Ask Donnie (“Ask Donnie,” “Donnie,” “we,” “us”) is a construction estimating and building-code assistant operated by Proctor Holdings. This policy explains what we collect through our website and our iOS app, why, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run the service. We do not sell your data, we do not show third-party ads, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Information we collect
- Account & contact info — your email address, and (when you add them to your profile or document branding) your name, phone number, and business mailing address. Used to create and secure your account and to brand the estimates and invoices you generate.
- Content you provide — the questions you ask, the plans, blueprints, photos, and documents you upload or scan for a takeoff, and the estimates, invoices, and projects you create. This is stored so the app works and your history is available to you.
- Purchases — your subscription tier and wallet top-up history. Payments are processed by Apple (in-app purchases on iOS) and Stripe (on the web); we never receive or store your full card number.
- Operational data — minimal logs needed to keep the service running and secure (e.g. request/error logs and rate-limiting). We do not use an advertising identifier (IDFA), and the iOS app does not ask to track you.
How we use it
Solely to provide and improve the app’s functionality: authenticating you, generating cited code answers and cost estimates, producing your documents, maintaining your wallet and subscription, and supporting you. We do not use your data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
AI processing
To answer questions and read plans, the content you submit is processed by trusted AI providers (including Anthropic) acting as our subprocessors under confidentiality terms. We do not permit your content to be used to train third-party foundation models.
Sharing
We share data only with service providers who help us operate (hosting, payment processing via Apple and Stripe, and AI processing as above), and only as needed to deliver the service, or when required by law. We do not sell personal information.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time — in the iOS app, go to Account → Delete account; on the web, contact us. Deleting your account permanently removes your account and associated content from our systems (subject to limited backup/legal retention). Note that deleting your account does not cancel an active App Store subscription — manage that in the App Store.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Authentication tokens and secrets on your device are stored in the iOS Keychain. We restrict access to personal data to what is needed to operate the service.
Children
Ask Donnie is a professional tool and is not directed to children under 13.
Your choices
You can review and update your profile in-app, export the documents you create, and delete your account. For access or deletion requests, contact us using the details below.
Changes
We may update this policy; we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app or by email.
